FUNCTIONAL SAFETY SERVICES
We are Certified and Registered Functional Safety Engineers,
and Functional Safety is at the core of what we do.
Functional safety
Functional Safety is part of the overall safety relating to the process and the Basic Process Control System (BPCS) which depends on the correct functioning of the Safety Instrumented System (SIS) and other protection layers.
SIS
Safety Instrumented systems are one of the most widely used active risk reduction techniques that form part of the preventative protection layers of a process plant. A SIS is made up of individual Safety Instrumented Functions (SIFs), and a SIF contributes to the overall risk reduction for an identified hazard. Overall risk reduction is made up of many layers of protection (safeguards) that are usually identified during the hazard study.
IEC 61511 / BS EN 61511 / ANSI/ISA/IEC 61511 Standard
IEC 61511 Functional Safety Standard – Safety Instrumented Systems for the process industry sector, is the benchmark standard for the management of functional safety in the process industries. It defines the safety lifecycle and describes how functional safety should be managed throughout that lifecycle.
At LogicPromax Automation, we design Safety Instrumented Systems in line with the IEC 61511 / BS EN 61511 / ANSI/ISA/IEC 61511 Functional Safety Standard including but not limited to the following phases of Functional Safety lifecycle:
- Development of Safety Requirements Specification (SRS).
- SIS Design & Engineering; SIL Verification / PFDAVG Calculations, Application Program development (Safety code).
- Installation, Commissioning, and Validation
- SIS Modification
- Functional Safety Assessment Stages 1/2/3.
